We are familiar with high profile Belgian designers Vincent Van Duysen and Axel Vervoordt. Geraldine Dohogne doesn’t roll off the tongue just quite yet however her unleashed talent has created some of the most tailored artisan styled interiors for the luxury French Zannier Hotel group.
Roll forward and in January 2020, Geraldine went out on her own to start Beyond Design. A brand name illustrating her philosophy of offering a compelling story and experience for each project she works on in her varied portfolio of hospitality, restaurants, bars, residential and working spaces.
Geraldine is not formally trained in design. She graduated with an International Business Degree and at a young age found herself as the Zannier hotels first employee. Having worked across the groups development, operations and in their design department ultimately led her to become the Group Director of Design.
Considered hotel design can uplift the mood, stir emotion and offer the guest comfort and functionality. Geraldine’s unconventional approach of using her passion, instinct, curiosity and a strong visual eye has collectively produced some of the most beautiful unique design outcomes.
Whether it be Zannier sites she has worked on in France, Belgium, Cambodia, Namibia or Vietnam, all are respectful of the local way of life and practices. Geraldine travelled by motorbike for three weeks when sourcing for Bai San Ho in Vietnam and it’s this meticulous thought out detail along with hiring local craftsman and trades to use their traditional methods that enables guests to experience the true local culture.
Today, Geraldine is running her concept business from London and is continuing to add her personal touch and approach to her international projects.
